Our story

Shenandoah RiverIn 2004 the Outlanders brand emerged in Luray, Va with the grand opening of our unique power sports showroom, deli, and apparel shop located less than a 1/4 mile from our new River Camp retreat.  Our Scottish heritage combined with the love of the Shenandoah Valley is evident to our guests, one of the many reasons why Outlanders has become a destination store.  As our business grew along with Luray, Virginia tourism, the need to serve overnight accommodations became evident, and in 2007, the idea to build Outlanders River Camp (ORC) on our 100 acre nature retreat developed. 

Although we are still adding amenities and accommodations, ORC now offers our guests 33 new full hook-up RV sites with extraordinary mountain views as well as 20 primitive camping sites nestled along the Shenandoah River and 10 unique temt camping sites we call "Hog-Pens".  ORC also has a 3BR luxury family vacation home on site to serve the needs of those who want the finest of accommodations available in the Shenandoah Valley.

With nearly 1 mile of river frontage on our retreat, ORC opted to preserve most of our property for nature enthusiasts and those who appreciate the natural beauty only this area of Virginia provides.  Although the Outlanders family plans to grow our services and amenities as our guests demand, we intend to continue our family tradition and belief to preserve nature and our scenic resources.  We invite you to our piece of nature and welcome you to become a member of the extended Outlanders family!
